Community Service Projects

These are our focus on supporting our communities to give better quality of life to our people. Community Service projects.

When we identify areas of need, we fashion a project to address the need and then source for funds.

Our projects address the sevens areas of focus of Rotary International i.e. Basic Education & Literacy, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Maternal and Child Health, Community Economic Development, Peacebuilding & Conflict Prevention and Environment.

Notably, our sponsor club have been very active in Basic Education and Literacy, Disease Prevention, Water and Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health and Environment.

We also are active in Community Economic Development empowering indigent artisans and traders to support their trade.

Much work is done yearly, on educational infrastructure that are relic and given turnaround renovations to give ambient Environment for training of the young minds.

Equally, provision of potable water has been a key activity. Boreholes have been dug in communities without water and provided with overhead water tanks. This has been a veritable source of potable water for some communities where these blow projects have executed.

Finding of projects have both contributions from members and donations from companies in the community that friends of Rotary. Notable charity supporters are Anochemicals Nigeria Limited and Strong Pack Nigeria Plc.

Through their donations, the club has executed novel school building projects. Apart from the building infrastructure, furniture have also been provided through support of provision of wood needed for the chairs, tables and desks for pupils.

Maternal & Child Health has also been a key focus. The health centres around Agbara has over the received support in the provision of birth kits for pregnant women. Donation of other items that support good health practices amongst those using these facilities.

The was known for its signature project for some now, the Adult Literacy program. This program was anchored for several years in a neighbouring community Ado-Odo. Graduates of the program testified to it usefulness during some fellowship in the past where adults who could read or write gained the feat following the program implementation. Thus program remains in focus today.

In disease prevention, the club has been actively involved in polio immunisation programmes. Carrying polio immunisation campaigns in Agbara and mobilisation the community for immunisation through the Agbara Health Centre.
